The Process
Branding / Visual Identity, Website Design & Construction, Motion Graphics, VFX, Post Production
Project Approach, Style & Process:
Logo Rebrand
First, I like to start with the logo design because it is the center piece of a brands visual identity. It is always the first impression when networking with our clients, followers and active supporters. Acute attention to the logo design process foreshadows the quality of the overall branding and marketing direction as it lights the way stylistically, fluidly moving us forward through the vast visual identity design process.
Work Flow:
brainstorming & visual research.
gather & present stock image collection(s) including inspirational design styles
establish & present various color palette options
explore & create logo specific design content
present a first round of logo explorations (usually a style sheet of varied creative directions & styles)
gather & digest client feedback regarding the first round
tweak, push logo designs further
present the second round of designs
tighten up logos to reflect clients feedback on the second round
present final round of logo options
tweak and sharpen final choice
Business Cards, Post Cards, & Stationary:
The next order of business that keeps the creative juices flowing and holds the excitement of everyone involved in the project is designing the first piece of the printable assets, the business card.
We will treat production of the card design the same way as described in the Logo Rebrand above. (Various rounds of designs, directions, and communication between client / studio to ultimately settle on a final decision)
Important to know:
A vetted and reputable printing service that offers a durable, high end product inked on special papers / card stock and is known for costumer satisfaction will be utilized. All the clients print needs will be handled by the the design studio. This requirement allows the designer to quality control the final product (the printing). The studio assumes responisiblity for the result.

• . business card design & printing
• . postcard design & printing
• . letterhead, misc.
Website Design & Construction:
Now that the ball is rolling, and we have gathered solid creative momentum having settled on concept, direction & design for the logo / stationary, it is now the perfect time to move onto the website conceptualization, design and construction.
I use the SquareSpace website builder service to design and build websites for my clients. Using SquareSpace makes it simple to consult my clients on how to manage, maintain and update their own site. Once you get up to speed there is no longer the need to call a programer, designer or webmaster to make every little change. Any client (even those less technical) can smoothly integrate to be more hands on with their own website. This is so important because a most effective website is one that is living, breathing and being consistency updated with content.
Communication:
Developing a crisp newly branded site requires an attentive and frequent communication with the client. The creative process strictly depends upon detailed editorial content and an array of editorial to correctly render the companies message. So expect a lot of back and forth via emails, phone calls, and texts etc.
Typography:
One of the first and most necessary aspects to concentrate substantially on stylistically for the site identity is the typography choices, sizes and layout. The font(s) and use of type and its combinations set the over all tone for everything creative moving forward.
Design thoughts:
As we are designing, adding content, editing and nurturing the overall flow of the pages, we will be frequently changing, and evolving the site repeatedly as is the process to discovering the greatest balance of artisan & functionality. I will be creating designs, scrapping designs, purchasing stock imagery, photoshopping, editing, mixing and expanding the girth of the project. As we move forward we will learn from the creative process what is working best because designing in general is like working with clay. As we keep working it and adding details it will get better and better. A website works this same way.
