The climate

Expect brisk sunny mornings that patiently morph into a perfect mid day climate, no air conditioner is necessary. The setting sun brings on a pleasant transition into fresh, crisp, cool night time temperatures that can get as low as 55 degrees. This is time to slip into a light sweater, fire up the wood stove and relax while sipping local hot cocoa.

The homestead

There is a spring for drinking water on the property (no Chlorine or water treatment).

We maintain a small flock of laying hens. Fresh eggs are usually available on demand for breakfast or when needed.

A kitchen garden decorates the perimeter of the homesite making it convenient to pick condiments like oregano, parsley, sage, celery and other garden fresh produce for your food prep needs.

Bananas scatter the property growing effortlessly along with lemons, sour mandarins, peaches, oranges, mangos and other tropical fruits.

getting around

Walking around the area is a great way to get to know where things are situated locally here on the mountain. It is quiet and totally safe for you to explore the neighborhood.

You will have easy access to the municipal road out the property gate, and then an invigorating 10 - 15 minute walk (mostly down hill) to the closest bus stop. The buses are in service 4 or more times per day connecting small towns en route on its 45 minute mountainously scenic journey to San Isidro (the closest big town or city) where from there you can easily transfer anywhere you fancy.

Uber is also a great way to get around. Service sometimes can come pick you up right at the gate from the farm.
